I just sent it in because it is a perfect autumn dish, but non terribly healthy or organic or whatever. I guess if you picked the apples off of a tree in the park or bought them at the organic apple stand at the farmer's market, it would be more frugal and healthy than buying apples at the store. But I love me my Mom's apple crisp so much, I might just make a pan of it for myself. Yvonne, I have one recipe from the Moosewood for spinach squares -- very tasty. Double the spinach and half (halve? what's the verb there) the cheese, and it's healthier but tastes just as good.
